COME JOIN US SATURDAY, APRIL 30 FROM 12:00-1:15 PM
AT THE DEFOOR CENTRE AT 1710 DEFOOR AVENUE, ATLANTA
FOR A QUIET, RELAXING, MEDITATIVE YIN YOGA PRACTICE.
NO CLASS FEE. DONATIONS ACCEPTED. T-SHIRTS AVAILABLE.

A quiet, meditative yoga practice, Yin Yoga focuses on lengthening connective tissue and is meant to complement the more active types of yoga (such as vinyasa). Yin poses are passive, meaning you relax muscles and let gravity do the work. And they’re long – so you’ll practice patience too. The class will last one hour and consist of 10 poses, held for 5 minutes each, with 1 minute of rest in between. Yin yoga assists the body in becoming more flexible and energizing the organ meridians. Bring your yoga mat and some water, as well as any additional props you have (such as a blanket, bolster, or block).  All levels welcome.

We will begin promptly at 12:00, so plan to arrive 5 – 10 minutes early to prepare for your practice and avoid disrupting other students.

WHAT TO BRING:
Minimum: yoga mat and water
Suggested additions: blanket, bolster, block

Heart-Japan

This class will be a donation class. This means that there is no required class fee, but you are invited to make a donation of any amount (hopefully at least the $5 that you would normally pay for this class). All donations will go directly to the Heart Japan organization which directs 100% of its profits to aid victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. (PS: They’ll also have their Heart Japan tees, like I’m wearing in the photo above, available for purchase.)
